Dear 5R Families,
After a lot of requests, most 5R students agreed that they would like to organize a Secret Santa exchange over the final week of school. Grace took the lead and organized participants. Thanks!
Here are the details:
- Participation was opt-in only. Several students have chosen not to be involved.
- Yesterday participants drew secret names of the person for whom they’ll be the giver.
- The guideline on gifts/acts of kindness was nothing is to be purchased, or passed along. Students are expected to make an effort. We’ve discussed that this may mean doing something nice for the person. Making something for them (a card, a craft, an artwork… cookies?).
- Participating students are expected to secretly give or do their thing(s) over the next week.
- Next Friday, we will share who was matched with whom, at our end-of-term holiday celebration.
- This isn’t meant to be a big deal, just a fun twist to our final week of the year.
Also, as mentioned, we will be celebrating our end of the year together next Friday. The G5 team has settled on a multi-plex cinema party, with different movies and activities in each of the G5 classrooms. Class parents have organized treats, so there is no requirement to bring any snacks etc. We are, however, looking for suitable movies. These do not have to be holiday/winter themed, though that might be nice too. If your child would like to bring in a suggestion or two, please send them with the DVDs by next Wednesday. DVDs will be returned after the party on Friday.
