Dear 5R Families,
Starting today, every 5R student should have their agenda in their backpack each day going home and each morning returning to school.
These agendas are the same as those in use in the ZIS Middle School. We are using them in part to support students with that upcoming transition. Additionally, the purposes of the agendas are:
- To help students stay organized with upcoming responsibilities
- As a conversation starter/communication aid between home and school
My hope is that the agendas serve to inform the conversations you have with your child in the evening. There is no requirement to use that day’s information to prompt a discussion, however, if you do, I would love it if you could initial or sign at the bottom of that day’s column.
The agendas will come home with your child each day, and must return to school each morning.
Would you please:
- use their notes as conversation starters to chat about their day
- initial/sign at the bottom of the day’s column, if you have had a chat with your child about their school day
We hope this can be a valuable tool for improving home-school communication, and preparing students for the organizational demands of middle school.
