Dear 5R Families,

Thank you so much for coming out to support our essayists on Friday. It was wonderful to see representation from nearly every family, and many thanks for your support for students whose families were unable to attend.

The class did an excellent job of introducing the stories, sharing excerpts from their writing, and then offering feedback to each other. Mr Sargeant, in his visit, commented on how remarkable it was to hear the depth of thinking, and even the craft of writing from fifth graders. They’ve really reached to come to grips with some big ideas, and to experiment in a form of writing that was new to all of them. They should be proud.
